Mobile Market Painting

The Mobile Market, brought to us in part by the Kentucky State Nutrition Kitchen and YouthBuild Louisville, pops up in front of St. Peter Claver on Lampton Street every Wednesday from 4:30-6:30 pm. At the Mobile Market, there is a variety of local, organic produce for sale at an incredible price. The Steam Exchange also has arts and crafts activities for people of all ages that are offered for anyone interested!

Recently, we have been painting on large wooden panels. Several of our regular young artists began creating handprint flowers on a large group garden panel but have moved on to creating their own full sized paintings. Often the paintings are bigger than the young artists! Anyone can stop by to add their own small contribution or can stay for the entire two hours to work on a project more in depth. Imagination and creativity are encouraged, but mostly we want to have a good time expressing ourselves in new and exciting ways!

This Wednesday we will be creating more paintings and learning how to marble paper with an ancient Japanese technique. Everyone is welcome, so stop by to pick up some fresh produce and create some arts and crafts!
